Flavor Profile:
We blend our loose leaf Yunnan Golden Tips (black tea from wild, old growth trees in Yunnan, China) with a unique Chinese herb called Osmanthus. It is the national flower of China and a most fragrant, Autumn blooming botanical. This year's harvest was mid-October.
These days most Osmanthus on the market is contaminated with pesticides, herbicides and even sulphur. It is also often high heat processed for fast drying, which depletes the fragrance and flavor.
But we have an extra special direct source that tends wild trees, harvests the tiny blossoms by hand and dries them organically with no added fragrances or coloring. Just pure, wild golden blossoms.
The contrast of the darker teas' earthy, bitter girth and the sweet, bright fragrance and flavor of Osmanthus harmonizes exquisitely to create an ancient tea blend for the cold, dark days of the year.

Farming style: These tea leaves come from old growth trees, which have never encountered a chemical, but they have never needed to. They are not grown in a traditional garden. Instead, they are grown in a biodynamic style; nurtured in their natural habitat, high up in the fecund mountains of Lincang, Yunnan. The untainted ecosystem provides ideal living conditions for the trees to thrive for hundreds of years.
