We blend an organically grown, loose leaf roasted oolong from Fujian province with a unique Chinese herb called Osmanthus. It is the national flower of China and a most fragrant, Autumn blooming botanical. This year's harvest was mid-October.
These days most Osmanthus on the market is contaminated with pesticides, herbicides and even sulphur. It is also often high heat processed for fast drying, which depletes the fragrance and flavor.
But we have an extra special direct source that tends wild trees, harvests the tiny blossoms by hand and dries them organically with no added fragrances or coloring. Just pure, wild golden blossoms.
The contrast of the oolong's earthy, roasted body and the sweet, bright fragrance and flavor of Osmanthus harmonizes exquisitely to create an ancient tea blend for the cold, dark days of the year.
Steeping Guidelines: 3g (1T) | 180-200 | 1-2 min | Steep x3+
Region: Lincang, Yunnan Province and Fujian Province, China
Farming style: These osmanthus come from wild trees, which have never encountered a chemical, but they have never needed to. They are not grown in a traditional garden. Instead, they are grown in a biodynamic style; nurtured in their natural habitat, and hand harvested in South China. The oolong is organically grown according to generations old farming practices.
