But it is not a copy from Japan. It has been produced in Enshi of West Hubei for hundreds of years. It is steamed and pan fired, giving it the darker jade color than Japanese gyokuro. This vibrant green tea is packed with flavor and vitality, yielding a strikingly full body with rich notes of vegetal sweetgrass and long, smooth, finish.
This Enshi Qun Ti Zhong cultivar is grown in a high elevation, organic garden deep in the mountains, which are filled with mist and clouds throughout the year, especially in the Spring, which provide the extra tender leaf material.
